Columbus Speedway Reunion this Weekend

The 12th annual Columbus Speedway / 25th Street Raceway Old Timer's Reunion is set for this Saturday at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds. Organizer Jerry Castor says that vehicles will be on hand from all over, as will some vehicles from local collectors and businessmen.

Castor says they have nearly thirty vehicles registered, including one very special model of an Indy 500 participant. That was a 1955 Streamliner specially built for that year's 500. The car had to be radically altered to make it competitive in the race. A builder in Indianapolis has created an exact replica, and will be bringing it down to Columbus, according to Castor.

No need to worry about the weather cancelling the event. The reunion will be held inside the Community Building from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday. Admission is free.
