St. Patrick's Day Parade in IndyThe 30th annual St. Patrick's Day parade hit the streets of downtown Indianapolis on Wednesday. This year's parade honored Indianapolis's Irish citizen of the year, Rev. Glenn L. O'Connor. The party got started early with a parade tent right in the middle of the route. Hundreds of people lined the streets decked out in shamrocks, red beards and green sequined hats. Kids were along the route to grab as much candy as possible. Some people attend the celebration for a different reason... green beer. Over 12 percent of Hoosiers boast Irish heritage. Last Updated: Wednesday, March 17, 2010 7:53:10 PM |
