A new education study finds a serious gender gap when it comes to reading and math. The center on education policy conducted the 2008 study which shows dramatic differences in achievement between boys and girls in the fourth, eighth, and high school level.

Indiana superintendent of public instruction Tony Bennett says the study is not surprising. He believes Indiana schools need to take this information and apply it in order to be more efficient.

The data shows that no state finds that boys are doing better than girls in reading. Things were a bit more even when it comes to math. Back in the 60‘s and 70‘s schools worked to find ways to improve math test scores for girls and now they need to find solutions for boys to do better in reading.
