Indiana State Police and Seymour city police officers responded to a report of a plane crash at Freeman Field in Seymour. According to Detective Rick Roseberry of the Indiana State Police, at approximately 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, an SE 5A single engine, World War I era biplane took off from Freeman Field. After reaching an altitude of approximately 50 to 60 feet the plane lost power and crashed in a field just north of the runway. The pilot, 59 year old Phillip E. Krueger of Freetown, IN received only minor scrapes and bruises as a result of the crash.

ISP says that this is the second time this plane has been involved in a crash. A similar incident happened in June of 2008 when Krueger took off from Freeman Field shortly after takeoff the plane lost power and crashed near the runway.

Personnel from the Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the crash.
