Child Molester Convicted in Jennings County
A Jennings County judge recently convicted a man to four years in prison for child molesting. Sentenced was Ronald D. Law, who was found "Guilty" on May 12 in a trial presided over by Circuit Court Jon W. Webster. Law was convicted for molesting a family member. Jennings County Prosecutor Alan Marshall noted that Law's crime caused additional strain upon family members. Said Marshall, "Anytime that the victim of this sort of crime is a family member of the the defendant's; the entire family suffers adding psychological stress." However, Marshall was quick to praise Law's victim for having the courage to speak out and report the crime. Marshall added that he thought Judge Webster's sentence was "well thought out". Mitigating factors included Law's lack of a criminal record. Under the sentence handed down by Webster, Law will split his sentence between jail and Probation.
