The "Walk To End Alzheimer's" is this Saturday in Columbus. Christy McCann, Community Services Liaison for the Alzheimer's Association, says this event kicks off at Mill Race Center. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies commence at 9:40 a.m. with the walk starting afterward at 10 a.m.
McCann says there are two walking options. One is a one-mile walk within Mill Race Park that is characterized as "fairly simple." She says this walk is handicap accessible. The second walk is a 2.6 mile jaunt that starts at Mill Race Park, goes to Donner Park and then back to Mill Race.
To sign up for this event, go online to www.alz.org/indiana and click on "Columbus Walk." From there, you will have the option of walking as an individual, creating your own team, or choosing a team to join. Another option says McCann, is simply showing up at the Mill Race Center Saturday morning with any monies you collected prior to the event.
