One Injured in Brown County Crash

One person was injured in an early Sunday morning crash in Brown County.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office says that just before 4 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to an accident with an overturned vehicle, personal injury, and entrapment at State Road 46 West and Treatment Plant Rd. When first responders arrived, they found an SUV on its roof and the driver trapped inside.

The driver, William Shipman, told responders that he fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the road. The Brown County Volunteer Fire Department was able to free Shipman from the vehicle by removing a door from the SUV.

Shipman was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital with some bleeding and a complaint of back pain. Police learned later that Shipman's license is suspended due to a prior conviction of driving while suspended.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash and Shipman's license status.
