Two Columbus Men Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Engines

Two Columbus men were recently arrested after police found two stolen car engines in the back of their truck in western Bartholomew County.

Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" report 43-year-old Christopher Albert Whedon, and his son, 22-year-old Jeremy Albert Whedon, were formally charged with theft as a Class D felony. The men live in the 1400 block of Chestnut Street. That's according to their jail booking report.

Major Todd Noblitt, with the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, says shortly after 4:30 Monday morning, deputies were sent to a home near the junction of Youth Camp Road and County Road 550W to investigate a neighbor’s report of loud and suspicious noises, including glass breaking.
