Three Arrested for Stealing State Police Equipment

Three Columbus men have been arrested in connection with the theft of some equipment inside an undercover Indiana State Police vehicle over the weekend in Bartholomew County.

Sgt. Noel Houze, with Indiana State Police in Versailles, says 23-year-old Dustin Tays, 33-year-old Robert Remboske and 25-year-old Ryan Melloh are lodged in the Bartholomew County Jail.

Houze says sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday, the suspects allegedly broke into the vehicle and stole a Glock Model 21, .45-caliber handgun, two additional fully loaded magazines and other law enforcement related items.

He says formal charges have not yet been filed against the three men. Details about their arrest are not being released at this time.

State Police continue to investigate, and the stolen items have yet to be recovered.
