Two Injured in Jennings County Crash

Two people were injured in a three vehicle crash in Jennings County Thursday afternoon.

Jennings County Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash on State Road 7 just south of County Road 300 North. Witnesses report that a pickup truck driven by 72-year-old Laverne K. Hall, of North Vernon, was traveling southbound in the construction zone when she collided with a northbound box truck driven by 61-year-old Paul R. Shepherd of Franklin. After striking the box truck, Hall's vehicle then collided with a car driven by Rory Stanley of North Vernon. Hall's vehicle then struck a concrete barrier before coming to a stop.

Maj. Jerry Shepherd, with the Jennings County Sheriff's Department, says 43-year-old Laverne Hall and her passenger, 43-year-old Charlene Deeta, of North Vernon, received non-life threatening injuries in the crash. Both were transported St. Vincent Jennings Hospital. Shepherd says there were no other injuries.
