Residents Return Home Following Gas Leak

Some Brownstown residents had to be evacuated due to a gas leak Saturday near the Jackson County Courthouse.

Jackson County Emergency Management Director Duane Davis told the "Seymour Tribune" residents were allowed to return home shortly after noon Sunday. That's when Midwest Gas Company gave the all-clear signal.

Davis says the 3-inch feeder line was repaired by 1 p.m., which allowed Midwest employees to start a door-to-door process of reigniting customers' pilot lights.
