Tree-Trimming Investigation Continues

The investigation into the tree-trimming incident in Medora is ongoing.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says that on Oct. 18, 45-year-old Darren "Andy" Royalty of Seymour, had to leap from a tree stand on his property to avoid being hit by the rotating blades of an approaching tree trimmer suspended from a helicopter.

Duke Energy spokesman Lew Middlteon says the work was contracted out to the Asplundh Tree Expert Company. Middleton went on to say that the vendors are responsible for notifying the property owners, usually with a door hanging or by phone. He says Duke Energy is still investigating the incident.

Our efforts to contact Asplundh sor far been unsuccessful.
