Authorities in Jennings County served arrest warrants on two people in Austin Thursday that they and federal authorities have been looking for over the last few days.

Maj. Jerry Shepherd, with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office, says 32-year-old Roger Lee Brooks, of Commiskey, was wanted for a parole violation by the Indiana Department of Corrections. The first warrant served on Brooks issued by the Jennings Circuit Court recently was for resisting law enforcement, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of unlawful possession of a legend drug and criminal recklessness. The second warrant issued by the court for Brooks was for burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

Shepherd says 27-year-old Jerrilee D. Atkins, of Seymour, is charged with warrant for conversion. Her bond was set at $1,155.

According to the sheriff's report, officers responded to a tip that led them to a home on Boatman Road in Austin Thursday. Sheriff's deputies, working with the U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force, had received information earlier that the couple were at the home and hiding in the basement. Brooks resisted arrest when confronted by officers and was quickly taken into custody after officers deployed a Taser to subdue him. Atkins was also taken into custody.

They are lodged in the Jennings County Jail.
