North Vernon Girl's Death Ruled Accidental

The coroner's office in Marion County has ruled that a North Vernon's teen's recent death was an accident.

Our news gathering partners at "The Republic" report 16-year-old Laikyn Victoria Field died of blunt force trauma after jumping from her family's van north of Seymour Oct. 5 and hitting her head on the pavement after an incident.

Detective Bob Lucas, with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, told the paper that no charges are anticipated.
