Tips Lead to Drug Arrests in Columbus

Two people were arrested on warrants Friday afternoon for allegedly dealing cocaine in Columbus.

Columbus Police Chief Jason Maddix says around 1:30 p.m., police arrested without incident 39-year-old Christine R. Scheible and 29-year-old Chad R. Hall, both of 1507 Lawton Avenue. They were booked into the Bartholomew County Jail.

Maddix says the pair’s arrest came following a year-long investigation by the police department’s Narcotics Unit.

The chief says complaints from area residents were an important part of the investigation. The pair is alleged to have distributed cocaine in the downtown area near 11th and Washington Street and from their home, which is near Noblitt Park.

Maddix praised the residents of Lawton Avenue for their tips and information in this case. He also appreciated the patience and persistence of the Narcotics Unit.

“They never stopped working on this investigation,” Maddix said.
