Police Raid Gas Station for Selling Synthetic Marijuana

Four people, who are all related, were charged Wednesday for dealing a synthetic drug from a Franklin gas station.

The "Daily Journal" reports Franklin Police raided the Phillips 66 gas station, located at 400 E. Jefferson St. Wednesday afternoon. The paper reports two people were arrested and about 350 packets of synthetic marijuana was seized. Officials say this is the first major bust statewide under a law meant to help police fight synthetic drugs. The gas station is now closed.

Franklin Police Det. John Borges told the paper the station is owned by Harinder Kaur and Nachhattar Singh. They live on the southside and have been charged but not arrested because they currently are in India. Officers arrested two other people, Veerpartap Singh and Rupinder Singh, Wednesday at the gas station.
