Snappy Tomato Facing Eviction from The Commons

It seems that the owner of Snappy Tomato Pizza may be evicted from The Commons in downtown Columbus if he doesn't come up with around $27,000 to pay back rent, utilities and penalties. That's according to our news gathering partners at "The Republic."

Stan Gamso, attorney for the Columbus Redevelopment Commission, told the paper the owner, Larken & Co. LLC, has not paid rent or utilities in 12 months. Gamso said city officials just realized that the payments had not been made and a certified letter notified the company that it was in default of its lease.

The letter gave the company until Jan. 8 to pay the balance. The commission is considering a special meeting next week to act on the issue if the company doesn't make payment.
