Police Investigate Threat at Edinburgh School

The outer doors of the Edinburgh Junior-Senior High School were temporarily locked Thursday morning.

Edinburgh Police Chief David Mann says that police and school administrators discussed, then investigated, information that was provided to them by a third party. This unidentified person told authorities that there may have been a verbal threat made against the school building.

Mann says they do not consider the threat to be viable. However, he said police and the school administration are taking all threats seriously. Mann went on to say that the police will continue with their investigation and that they have "adopted a heightened level of awareness."

Classes were dismissed Wednesday afternoon as usual.
