Sheriff's Association Offering Scholarships

The Indiana Sheriff's Association is once again awarding college scholarships to qualified students.

Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says forty $500 scholarships will be given to those high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies. He says these scholarships will be awarded to students all across Indiana.

To qualify for one of these scholarships, Cox says the applicant must be an Indiana resident, a current member of the Indiana Sheriff's Association, or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member. The student must also be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours each semester of an Indiana college or university.

Applications for the scholarship are available from a high school counselor's office, your local Sheriff's Department or the Indiana Sheriff's Association. The application can also be downloaded from www.indianasheriffs.org. Applications must be submitted by April 1.
