Snowplow Collides with Vehicle in Shelby County

A Shelby County snowplow was involved in crash on Monday.

Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Rich Myers says the two-vehicle crash took place at approximately 10:20 a.m. Trooper Jeremy Basso responded to the scene of the crash at the intersection of County Road 850 North and County Road 250 East in Shelby County.

Investigators say the preliminary investigation revealed that 70-year-old Robert Weaver, of Shelbyville, was driving the snowplow westbound on County Road 850 North. A vehicle driven by 35-year-old Christina Smith, of Morristown, was heading south on County Road 250 East. Trooper Basso stated that Weaver was applying abrasives at the intersection when he failed to yield to Smith, striking the left front of Smith's vehicle.

Smith complained of pain to her arm. She was transported to Hancock Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle. Weaver was not injured.
