'The Glass Slipper' Goes on Saturday

This Saturday is a great opportunity for high schools girls to get a great deal on prom necessities. Allison Waters is with the "Glass Slipper Project," which is aimed at getting great dresses, shoes, jewelry and other items to area high-school girls for free, or for a goodwill donation.

"The Glass Slipper" runs from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Brown County High School. Waters says that she expects girls from all across the state to descend on Nashville to find the perfect prom ensemble.

If you would like to help with the donation of a dress, jewelry, or other items, donations are still being accepted. Waters says donations can be dropped off Saturday morning in the Brown County High School parking lot. She says there will be over 100 volunteers in purple t-shirts to accept your donation and provide you with a donation letter for tax purposes if you need one.

Waters says at it's core, "The Glass Slipper" is a ministry. She says all volunteers are wearing purple t-shirts emblazoned with Psalm 45:11. It reads, "The King is enthralled by your beauty. Honor Him, for He is your Lord." Waters says in the end, it doesn't matter what you wear, for Jesus Christ thinks you are beautiful.
