State police seek missing badge, ID

The Indiana State Police are looking for your help finding a trooper's missing badge and identification.

According to the state police, a trooper in Bartholomew County was loading his car at about 12:30 yesterday afternoon and he accidentally left his wallet and leather badge-holder, with his badge and the state ID, on top of his car.

Just after 3 p.m., he received a call from his home because someone had returned the wallet. The officer retraced his route but could not find the badge and ID. Although he started off from the 1600 block of Lafayette Avenue in downtown Columbus, he also drove around downtown, out State Street and all the way to Seymour on U.S.31.

Anyone who finds the badge can return it to a local police office. Or you can call the Versailles state police post at 812-689-5000 or 800-566-6704.
