Williams Named Fire Inspector

Columbus firefighter Norvin Williams has been appointed to the position of Inspector. CFD Captain Mike Wilson says Inspector Williams began his fire service career in 1996 where he served in the Mechanic Division of the Columbus Fire Department. In 1999, Williams became a sworn city firefighter. Inspector Williams is a certified emergency medical technician as well as a certified emergency vehicle technician.

In addition to his 15 years as a Columbus firefighter, Williams has 30 years of experience in residential and commercial building construction as he is the owner of Williams Construction.

Columbus Fire Chief Dave Allmon states " Inspector Williams will be a tremendous asset and a great addition to our administrative team. I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Norvin for his commitment and service with the Columbus Fire Department."

Williams begins his new assignment on May 19.
