Resident honored for saving friend from fire

Columbus Fire Department has recognized a resident who helped rescue his friend from a house fire last month.

Capt. Mike Wilson, spokesman for the fire department, said that Brad Eubanks was on his way to visit Edward Brune at Brune's Union Street home on May 27th, when he, along with Columbus Police officer John Searle, found the home on fire. Eubanks and Searle pulled Brune from the burning home after breaking out a window.

Wilson said that Eubanks was presented the Columbus Fire Department's Citizen Life Saving Award.

"I just did what I would have wanted anyone else to do for me," Eubanks said.
