Stabbing on Franklin Street

A Bartholomew County man was stabbed in his home late Monday afternoon.

Officers from the Columbus Police Department (CPD) were called to the home at 1213 Franklin Street shortly after 5 p.m. CPD Spokesman, Lt. Matt Myers, says that when officers arrived, they spoke to a 59-year-old man who was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen. The unidentified man, who police say lives at the address, told authorities that his common-law wife committed the crime during an argument the two were having.

Lt. Myers says neither the purported victim, nor his alleged attacker, are cooperating with police at this time. Detectives say they are having difficulty getting the specifics of what led to the alleged stabbing.

First responders say that the man's injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made, but Myers says that could change at any moment.

We will have more updates as they are made available.
