Franklin Police investigate robbery

The Franklin Police Department is investigating a possible armed robbery in that community.

Just before 2 a.m., officers responded to Admiral Petroleum, on 237 West Jefferson Street, on a report of an armed robbery.

Responding officers spoke with the clerk who reported being robbed by a white male. According to the clerk, the suspect entered the business wearing blue jeans, a blue t-shirt, and a blue baseball style cap. He is further described as heavy set, with a full beard, glasses, and in his early to mid-twenties.

The man stated he had a gun, although no firearms were displayed during the robbery.  He demanded money and cigarettes before leaving the scene on foot. Police say the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Sergeant John Borges at (317) 346-1142.
