A 20-year-old Nashville woman was arrested Friday on drug and false informing charges after her friend nearly died from a drug overdose in Columbus.

Sgt. Matt Harris with Columbus Police Department says that officers were called to a possible overdose at 9:30 p.m. Friday on Nicholas Lane. Officers found a 21-year old man who was unresponsive and had no pulse. Paramedics were able to revive the man.

20-year-old Kayla M. Dilk, an acquaintance of the victim, told police that she had removed the heroin and paraphernalia that her friend had used and hid the items. Dilk told officers that she also had used the heroin that her friend had overdosed on.

After being treated and released at Columbus Regional Hospital, Dilk was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of  possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, false informing, criminal recklessness and possession of a legend drug injection device.
