Crump Business Plan deadline extended to December

The Columbus Redevelopment Commission adjusted a contract having to do with the development of a business plan for the Crump Theater.

The commission met Monday night and discussed the amendment of a contract with Danielle McClelland, of Bloomington. Under the original contract, signed just weeks ago, McClelland was to have a an extensive business plan for the historic downtown theater by Sept. 5. However, an unexpected death in her family led to McClelland being called away for family business for approximately two-weeks.

McClelland, who is also a professor at Indiana University's Bloomington campus, was originally planning to get all of the work done for this project before classes resumed. Since the family issues happened during this same period of time, her "window" for completing the work is essentially closed.

The Redevelopment Commission agreed to a request to extend the deadline for the project by three months to Dec. 5. While the entire project won't be completed until then, McClelland is expected to have a five-year budget draft available for inspection by the original deadline. A public presentation explaining that draft is also expected to take place around the same time.
