Columbus Police arrested a Bartholomew County man after a short pursuit late Tuesday afternoon.

Department Spokesman Sgt. Matt Harris says that at approximately 5:30 p.m., Officer Troy Love reported seeing a man on a bicycle riding between houses trying to elude him. Officer Love got out of his car and was able to track the man down. At this point, the suspect allegedly fled on the bicycle.

Officers were able to relocate the suspect, 41-year-old Michael Cody Brown, of Elizabethtown, a short time later in the 1300 block of Washington Street. He was taken into custody after crashing his bicycle.

Harris says that Brown was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement. He also reportedly had a parole warrant, as well as a warrant out of Johnson County.
