Seymour group plans massive ice bucket challenge

A Seymour group is planning what may be the biggest ALS ice bucket challenge yet, at least in this area.

The challenge is sweeping the Internet, with celebrities, athletes and everyday people posting video of themselves dumping ice water over their heads and donating money to research into Lou Gehrig's Disease.

On Tuesday, workers at Seymour Truck Sales plan to fill up part of the bed of a Mack dump truck with ice water and dump it on themselves to raise money. The event will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the store.

Jason Jaggers with Seymour Truck Sales says the group hopes to raise $500 to $1000.

"It is an 8x16 bed, we are looking at probably 100 bags of ice," Jaggers said. "I really don't know the gallon size, but we are going to do at least do a quarter or a half full. We figure any more than that might kill us."

The Seymour Fire Department is going to provide the water for the dump truck bed and ice is being donated by Derby City Truck Repair from Louisville. The owner of Seymour Truck Sales will be matching the money raised by the store's employees, Jaggers said.

The store is located at 1255 South Commerce Drive in Seymour. For more information you can call 812-707-7155 or 812-523-4400.
